In life, in death, in life beyond death, Jesus Christ is Lord.

Over powers and principalities, over rulers and all who guide, govern, and shape the ways of humankind, Jesus Christ is Lord.

Of the poor, of the broken and grieving, of the sinned against and the sinner, Jesus Christ is Lord.

In the Church and beyond the Church, in our homes and communities and workplaces and in the quiet of our hearts, Jesus Christ is Lord.

So let us offer to God our worship this day.

Our sin is before us, leading us astray. Let us return to God through our prayer of confession.

Unison Prayer of Forgiveness - Megan McMillan

Death-defying God, it has been four weeks since that glorious Easter morning when you changed the whole world. And we confess that, all too quickly, we fell back into our old patterns of skepticism and doubt. All too quickly, we fell back into our old patterns of sinfulness and fear. All too quickly, we fell back into our old patterns of making our way through our days without noticing how you are redeeming us and the world. Convert us yet again, O Risen Christ. Remove the scales from our eyes so that we might see you. Turn our hearts to you so that we might live as your Easter people yet again. A time of silent prayer.

Assurance of Pardon - Megan McMillan

The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. Friends, we are an Easter people, forgiven and freed, ready to sing God’s glory and testify to God’s grace. Amen.
