Call to Worship - Robert Galloway

We come together to worship our God.

Our God is the one who gives us breath and sustains our lives.

We gather to remember what is true.

The truth is that God's love is steadfast and God's grace never fails.

In a world of change, God remains our constant hope.

Our hope rests in God who is faithful and eternal.

Let us lift our voices and join the heavenly chorus in their song of praise.

We sing to the Lord a new song and worship the Lord gladly.

*Processional Hymn #39: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" FAITHFULNESS

Call to Confession - Mary-Linda Armacost

Prayer of Confession (unison) - Mary-Linda Armacost

Eternal God, we confess that we often put our trust in things that do not last—in structures of stone, in human systems, in our own strength. We grow anxious when the world shifts around us. We forget your promise to be our strong foundation. Forgive us when we fail to look for your presence. Forgive us when we resist the uncomfortable work of your Spirit. By your mercy, renew our trust in what cannot be shaken. Remake us in your grace so we live lives with you as our foundation.

Assurance of Pardon - Mary-Linda Armacost

…Friends, believe the good news: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!

Passing the Peace - Mary-Linda Armacost

…The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

*Response #240: "Alleluia, Alleluia! Give Thanks" (refrain only) ALLELUIA NO. 1

Alleluia, alleluia! Give thanks to the risen Lord. Alleluia, alleluia! Give praise to his name.

Sermon - Robert Galloway

*Hymn #352: "My Lord! What a Morning" MY LORD, WHAT A MORNING

*Affirmation of Faith: Apostles’ Creed (unison) - Marilyn Mulcahy

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Presentation of our Gifts – Invitation and Prayer - Marilyn Mulcahy

…Please join me in a unison Prayer of Dedication:

Great and giving God, we know every good and perfect gift comes from you. We give these offerings and pray they will not only supply the needs of others but also overflow with many thanksgivings to you. Thank you for our many blessings. Lord, show us how to use what you have given us to be a blessing to others. Amen.

Offertory Anthem: "Built on a Rock," arr. Dale Wood (1934–2003) - Chancel Choir

Built on a rock the Church shall stand, even when steeples are falling; crumbled have spires in every land, bells still are chiming and calling young and old to rest, calling the souls of those distressed, longing for life everlasting.

Not in our temples made with hands, God the Almighty is dwelling; high in the heavens his temple stands, all earthly temples excelling.  Yet he who dwells in heav’n above deigns to abide with us in love, making our bodies his temple.

We are God’s house of living stones, built for his own habitation; He fills our hearts his humble thrones, granting us life and salvation.  Were two or three to seek his face, he in their midst would show his grace, blessings upon them bestowing.

Through all the passing years, O Lord, grant that when church bells are ringing, many may come to hear God’s Word where he this promise is bringing: I know my own, my own know me; you, not the world, my face shall see; my peace I leave with you.  Amen.

*Doxology OLD HUNDREDTH

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer - Robert Galloway

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

*Closing Hymn #353: "My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less" SOLID ROCK

Charge & Benediction - Robert Galloway
