Step 1: Provide us with some information
Students will need to complete an online application in the 2021 Fall Semester (deadline for submission is Friday, December 17th). Applications will be screened by FPC’s Director of Music to ensure eligibility, proficiency on the instrument, and appropriate sacred music repertoire.
Students will be asked to provide the following information:
Your name, phone number, email address, mailing/street address
High School, grade level, instrument
Brief biography
One Sacred and/or Classical piece: Title and Composer
YouTube Video of you performing your selected piece (another video-sharing platform is acceptable)
Sunday morning dates that you are unavailable to perform January 2022 - March 2022
Step 2: Live performance
Applicants will be scheduled to perform their piece as guest musicians in a Sunday morning service.
You will be notified by email of your received application and performance date by Monday, December 20, 2021.
Performances will be scheduled in January 2022 - March 2022.
We will provide a piano/organ accompanist, if applicable. A separate rehearsal time will be scheduled with our accompanist.
Step 3: Awards
Winners are decided by a panel of judges who score the video footage from live performances/services. The FPC Session approves scholarship winners before they are announced in May, 2022.
The judging panel will be chosen by the FPC Worship and Music Committee. Judges should not be any teacher associated with an applicant’s music education.
