Welcome - Rev. Robert Galloway

Call to Worship - Robert Galloway

Come, all who seek peace and long for joy.
We come to the house of the Lord, where compassion flows.
God calls us like a mother comforting her children.
God sends us like laborers to harvest the bounty provided.
Let us rejoice in the generosity of God.
Let us open our hearts to receive and respond.

Call to Confession - Ron Braun

Prayer of Confession (unison) - Ron Braun

Merciful God, you send us into the world with your peace, but we prefer the safety of what we know. You offer us companionship, but we isolate ourselves in fear or pride. You speak through the vulnerable and the small, but we listen for power and prestige. Forgive our reluctance, our defensiveness, our silence. Open our eyes to the way that you call us to live. Renew our hearts to receive your grace, and shape us into faithful laborers in your field.

Assurance of Pardon - Ron Braun

…Friends, believe the Good News: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

Passing the Peace - Ron Braun

…The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

*Affirmation of Faith from Confession of 1967 (unison) - Mary Blazier-Higman

To be reconciled to God is to be sent into the world as his reconciling community. This community, the church universal, is entrusted with God’s message of  reconciliation and shares his labor of healing the enmities which separate humanity from God and from each other. Christ has called the church to this mission and given it the gift of the Holy Spirit. The life, death, resurrection, and promised coming of Jesus Christ has set the pattern for the church’s mission. His life on earth involves the church in the common life of humanity. His service to all people commits the church to work for every form of human well-being. His suffering makes the church sensitive to all the sufferings of humankind so that it sees the face of Christ in the faces of those in need. His crucifixion reveals to the church God’s disdain for inhumanity and injustice. The church follows this pattern in the form of its life and in the method of its action. So to live and serve is to confess Christ as Lord.

Invitation

The Great Thanksgiving

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise..

Now with the confidence of the Children of God, we are bold to pray:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Words of Institution

The Bread and the Cup

Prayer of Thanksgiving (unison):

God of grace, you renew us at your table with the bread of life. You nourish us with your unending love. May this gift of grace strengthen us in faith, deepen our love for one another, and empower us to serve you with joy and compassion. Guide us to live as Christ’s disciples in the world. Fill us with your Spirit, that we may be witnesses to your love in all we do. Amen.
